We have made available three new reports for PPS Hospitals on the Apprise Secure Portal. These reports are the Medicare IPPS Proposed Rule Impact Analysis, the Occupational Mix Data Analysis, and the Wage Index Data Analysis. We believe that these reports can be very valuable in helping hospitals estimate future impact of medicare reimbursement.
Medicare Hospital Wage Index and Occupational Mix Data Analysis
Final Data (FFY 2017)
The Medicare Hospital Wage Index and Occupational Mix Data Analysis–Final Data is intended to provide hospitals with a comparative review of the wage data that will be used to develop the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2017 Medicare hospital wage index.
The data analyzed is final and is the third of three wage data public use files (PUFs) that CMS will issue during the current FFY to develop the hospital wage index for FFY 2017. This “final” data should include all hospital-submitted and CMS-accepted revisions to the “revised” data issued in February 2016.
The FFY 2017 Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Proposed Rule Analysis is intended to show providers how Medicare inpatient fee-for-service (FFS) payments will change from FFY 2016 to FFY 2017 based on the policies set forth in the FFY 2017 IPPS proposed rule.
The analysis compares the year-over-year change in operating, capital, and uncompensated care IPPS payments and includes breakout sections that provide detailed insight into specific policies that influence IPPS payment changes. Details around the rule changes and policies that influence IPPS payment changes can be found in the analysis description on the Apprise Secure Portal.
